The Greece Thunder hockey team gets their state championship rings tonight at a ceremony at the Town Hall. This puts an official end to the 2008-2009 season, which began with dryland training on 7/7/08. The pre-season conditioning, captain’s practices, tryouts, regular season (practice and games 6 days a week), Section V playoffs and States, the pasta parties, banquets, award ceremonies, fundraisers, golf tournaments…it all ends tonight.
He got his name in the local paper (the big one, not the community paper, where he’s been mentioned a couple of times). Got called up to varsity a couple of weeks ago and doing well, helping Odyssey make the sectional championship game. Had a bases-loaded double in yesterday’s semifinal win.
Matt’s team is well into their season, and doing ok. I maintain the web site for his team using a combination of Google products – Page Creator, Calendar, and Blogger. Check it out here:
Matt and I are in Boston for a couple of Red Sox games. He’s an obsessive BoSox fan (is there any other kind?) so we’re here visiting Mecca. Trying to get some culture in, too.
Update: Here’s the pictures Matt took of the trip.
