Newsvine

June 25, 2006

I find myself turning away from conventional news sites lately and relying more and more on Newsvine. It's a mix of wire stories and user-submitted content. Users can write their own columns, or "seed" content from others sources with a click of the mouse. The more a story gets read or commented on, the better chance it has of getting on the front page.

The site uses tags extensively, making it simple to find topics of interest, as well as allowing you to build your own watch page of content that interests you.

If you'd like an invitation to Newsvine, drop me an email.

The Return of Flock

June 15, 2006

The web browser for you and your friends.

I've blogged about Flock in the past but it's now in Beta and ready for public consumption. I've been using the Alpha versions and have been very impressed. It's based on Mozilla Firefox but has many additional features:

1. Integrated Blogging

2. Social Bookmarking

3. Integrated photo management

4. The best web-based RSS reader I have seen

Check it out!
